It’s never too early to light up the night.

Port Credit will hold its annual Village Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, December 5th. The events features caroling, raffles and excitement for people of all ages!

“It’s a lovely family-oriented event, with fun for everyone,” says Ellen Timms, General Manager of the Port Credit Business Association.

Hot chocolate will be sold and served by Timothy’s World Coffee. Carol books will also be handed out to all guests, courtesy of The Mississauga News.

Guests are invited to sing along with artists Michelle Berting and Anthony Panacci. Santa Claus will also be on hand to take photos with the kids and celebrate the festive season. Visitors are also encouraged to make a donation to the Lakeshore Corridor Community Team.

A brand new children’s bicycle, donated by Rosemarie Wallace and Gears Bike Shop, will be raffled off, with proceeds going to the Bikes4Betty Foundation.

The ceremony runs from 6:30 to 8 p.m.

Local businesses in Port Credit will also hold a special “Shop Local” day on Saturday, November 22nd with shop owners offering hospitality, some shops will be providing free gift-wrapping and carolers will be out in the village singing joyous holiday songs.
