On Monday, October 27, a month of celebration at Michael’s Back Door in Clarkson culminated in an evening of giving back.
More than 60 guests gathered for a special gourmet dinner created and prepared by Michael’s head chef and co-owner Stephan Waespi.
The cause, for the third year in a row, was Foodpath, Mississauga’s largest food bank.
“Last year, we raised more than $6000,” says Michael’s Back Door founder and owner Michael Morra, “and this year, we’re on target to raise even more.”
Guests dined on a delicous six-course meal that consisted of a selection of hot and cold hors d’oeuvres, sweet potato and butternut squash soup, cheese agnolotti, sorbet, baked marinated barimundi with shrimp and a phyllo basket with vanilla ice cream and fresh fruit—all accompanied by a selection of red and white wine.
The gourmet dinner put the final touch on a memorable month at the restaurant, a perennial favourite among discerning Mississauga diners.
“This year marks Michael’s Back Door’s 27th in business,” explains Mario Della Salvia, restaurant manager, “and we’re pleased to give back to the community. Foodpath is an amazing charity and so necessary, especially in these dire economic times.”
