• The Booster was founded in Streetsville in 1964 by Sam McCallion and run by the McCallion family until 2003 (when it was acquired by Metroland).
• The paper version of The Booster is distributed every Wednesday to 45,000 homes in East Oakville, Clarkson, Lorne Park and Port Credit, and once a month to 45,000 homes in Streetsville and Meadowvale.
• The Booster’s editorial focus, both on and off line, is on good news and boosting local business: Volunteerism, kids making a difference, local heroes, a glimpse into our schools...these are the stories The Booster covers.
• Another popular feature of The Booster, both online and in print, is our Community Calendar, a comprehensive, up to date, easy-to-read listing of everything that’s going on in your neighbourhood.
• Columnists include Richard Collins, who delves into our local history in his "Our Enduring Past" feature, as well as Mike Harmer, who gives us a weekly glimpse into the school system with his "Schoolscapes" stories.
